the second hand city 
Sounds like good holiday reading. I always trawl the second hand book shop in the little town we holiday in – it’s a huge shop and the town is by the sea so lots of people holiday there and swap books. I’ve borrowed a heavy book from the library but I don’t think it suits the holidays so I’m reading an old Kate Grenville book called “The Idea of Perfection” and it’s fantastic. The descriptions of the small country town and the characters are spot on! It’s a good start for my 2016 Australian Women Writers Challenge – starting a couple of days early!
