Some strawberry cheer for the start of summer.  

  
I snapped this picture of an old wheelbarrow full of strawberries at Ali’s.

And I myself have now kept two strawberry plants alive in hanging baskets for two years (so very proud!).

It’s my discovery that they really like wet and soggy feet – and so they hang in a pot that is then in a pot with no drainage – that has made all the difference.  

I fill the pots right up with water every so often over summer and they sit there in a puddle with sun on their leaves and grow little strawberries that we eat.
