Check out this old meat safe.  It hangs above the island bench at Elise’s house, and she uses it to store fruit – so it’s a hanging fruit bowl.  And it is a really great idea!

This safe was inherited from family friends.  Elise painted it white.  Originally she had it sitting on her bench, but she has a beam overhead, and thought it would look good hanging.

So she looked out for some vintage hook scales (is this what they are called?) and voila!  Now she can use the whole bench and store the fruit.  And it looks excellent!!
